"I am overwhelmed by power cords and travel chargers and am looking for a good way to organize them until I need them. The top drawer of my desk is no longer cutting it. I've got too many power cables and AC adapters to count. I can't be the only one with this problem. Is there a solution? Thanks in advance!"

Anyone got a great mechanism for keeping these adapters and cables in some sort of order? We're certain the neat-freaks in attendance would love to hear your input in comments below.

Seven45 Studios talks Power Gig details, we go hands-on with its six string guitar peripheral

We'll just come right out and say it: Guitar Hero and Rock Band should watch their back, 'cause there's a better-than-decent chance that Power Gig will be all the rage this holiday season. Seven45 Studios is a heretofore unheard of upstart with roots in First Act, and unlike the vast majority of game developers, these guys actually have a direct hand in the production of the software and hardware associated with this package. They'll be designing the Power Gig video game series (Rise of the SixString is only the first installment) as well as the guitars, drums and microphones in-house, and given the First Act roots, you know you'll be getting instruments of higher quality than what's on the market today. Oh, and yes, we didn't misspeak when we pluralized "guitars" and mentioned those other two devices.

We had a sit down with the team today at GDC, and besides coming away impressed with the alpha build of the game and the prototype axes we saw, we also learned quite a bit more about their plans than what was revealed in this morning's press release. Just to be exceptionally clear, Seven45 Studios will not only sell their upcoming title as a standalone product, but it will sell a "band bundle" that includes the game, a guitar (plus a strap, picks and an extra set of strings), a drum set and a microphone, the latter two of which are still very early in production and weren't available for us to test. The beat matching setup that gamers have grown used to in Rock Band and Guitar Hero is still there, but most everything else is new; a "chording" addition will allow users to strum actual power chords that match the chords used in the song, giving newbies the ability to actually learn songs as they play the game if they want to. In other words, if users strum the same chords required to succeed in the game but through an amp, they'll be playing the actual song; if you'd rather not learn, you need not have any clue how to play a guitar to enjoy the game. Speaking of which, the bundled guitar (along with extra guitars that are still being sorted in terms of size, material and color) doubles as a legitimate six string by simply depressing the dampening pad beneath the neck, and while it won't match the crisp tone emitted from your Les Paul Custom, the prototype we heard here in San Francisco sounded just fine for a beginner's instrument. We also learned that existing Rock Band and Guitar Hero guitars will work with the Power Gig titles, and Seven45's guitars will work with existing music band games -- not bad!

Wireless power takes another baby step at CES 2010 with Qi standard

It's our third year visiting with Fulton Innovation and the eCoupled wireless power booth at CES, and once again there's significant progress to be seen -- this time in the form of actual shipping products like the Case-mate Hug and the Dell Latitude Z. Fulton's really pushing the industry standard angle with eCoupled -- it's a founding member of the Wireless Power Consortium, which is just a few months away from finalizing a standard based on eCoupled called Qi. Qi's going to be backed by some pretty big names: Motorola, Nokia, RIM, Energizer, Duracell, Samsung, and Philips are all members of the WPC, along with several others, and the goal is for all this stuff to seamlessly play together. Fulton had some pretty hot demos to show off of the standard in action, including a Toyota Avalon interior with functional spots for two phones, a GPS, a Bluetooth headset, and a netbook, a slick first-class airline seat with a charging table, and a hotel room with several power points -- including a slick motorized dock built into the desk for the Dell. Our favorite demo, however, was a wall sconce: an eCoupled point in the wall was used to power a light fixture, which was then swapped for a digital photo frame. Nifty stuff, indeed.

Still, the big challenge for Fulton and the WPC is going to be actually shipping a bunch of these products this year -- standards are nice, but without gear in hand they're meaningless, and the rival PowerMat crew has been making a pretty big push of its own. We'll see what happens in the next few months -- and how much has changed at CES 2011. Check a couple videos after the break!

Power Tools By Hitachi – 12 Volt Peak Lithium Tool Series

The addition of the DS10DFL, a Lithium Ion Driver Drill, an Ion Impact Driver model WH10DFL and a combination kit of the two model KC10DFL. The micro-build of this range of cordless power tools is the main advantage, as they are able to work in to locations where standard power tools will not fit. For such a small package this Hitachi 12 volt Peak range has astonishing power and performance. br /

Hitachis research and development people have thought of the environment by using Lithium Ion 1.5Ah HXP batteries. With standard batteries there is a constant power loss as soon as the power tool is started, however with the Lithium Ion batteries a constant and stable power delivery is available from each charge cycle. The battery charger boasts a patented electronic design that will stop overheating and loss of power, this not only lengthens the life if the Lithium Ion battery but also saves the operator from having to purchase expensive replacement batteries.br /

The trigger on both of these power tools is both responsive and variable ensuring perfect power and speed control throughout its application. Underneath the chuck are light emitting diodes or LEDs, these provide back-up illumination of the work area during use. The LEDs are activated by slight pressure on the trigger before the chuck starts to rotate, this is a great feature for when aligning the power tool to the work surface. Both 12V Peak models are designed in such a way that they will stand on the battery base unlike in other designs when the tool has to be placed on its side which can be very inconvenient.br /

The WH10DFL 12V Lithium Ion Mini- Impact Driver is imposingly lightweight at 2.2 lbs and compact at lower than 6” in length. With 840 inch/pounds of converting torque (much more than any cordless driver drill) and having a fast change 1/4 inch hex chuck that provides childlike bit replacements, its the ideal impact driver for when the job gets rough, such that driving self-tapping masonry anchors into solid brick or block, or large fastening application with lag bolts. Because the impedance of the load increases, the impact execution is engaged to greatly increase torque to power through and through the most difficult tasks.br /
