ASUS EeeKeyboard PC delayed again, now shipping in April

After so many delays, we've nearly given up hope on the EeeKeyboard PC ever actually hitting retail. Having missed the February launch, ASUS chairman Jonney Shih just told us during a post press event Q&A that the mythical, magical EeeKeyboard will now arrive in April. He also offered his apologies as ASUS tries to get the quality of the product and user experience just right. Hey Jonney, no need to apologize, those would be our priorities too before trying to sell a $500 to $600 battery-powered Atom-based PC with integrated 5-inch touchscreen, HDMI-out, and UWB all built into a keyboard.

Next-gen dashboards get Tegra 2, Moblin, Atom, we go hands-on

Intel Atom processors, capacitive touchscreens, NVIDIA Tegra 2 graphics, Moblin installs... sounds like a suite of hot next-gen ultra-portables, right? Think again. Those are just some of the technologies used in the dashboards of cars that will be appearing on showrooms in the coming months and years, dashes that were largely on display at CES -- minus the cars themselves, usually. There we were treated to mobile glimpses of Google Earth, Pandora, and Slacker Radio on the go, plus the ability to lock and unlock your car via Ye Olde Internets. Intel launches AppUp Center app store for Atom-powered devices (updated with hands-on impressions)

We need app stores for everything, right?! Intel thinks so. Chipzilla has finally just launched the Atom app store in beta, which will not only come pre-installed on Atom netbooks from Samsung, ASUS and Acer, but will also be available for download for Windows and Linux. Intel's been working with over 3,000 devs, but there should be even more apps on the way. So, what are you waiting for? Hit the source link and go download the beta.

Toshiba mini NB305 adds Atom N450 to a successful formula (hands-on)

Toshiba hasn't strayed far from its NB205 series of 10-inch netbooks with the all-new mini NB305, but the few tweaks made are welcome. Obviously the Atom N450 processor is the central attraction, but tweaks like a 250GB hard drive, less protrusive 6-cell battery (which clocks in a purported 11 hours of battery life), and a slightly lighter finished product (2.6 pounds) all add up to a compelling offering. The regular version of the laptop with "true" chiclet keys goes for $400, while a black version with a less impressive keyboard takes the entry spot at $350.

We got a few moments to play with the netbooks, and came away pretty impressed. It might not be quite the bang-for-buck on offer from other manufacturers, and the lack of a higher-end graphics option is a little off-putting, but as for simple build quality and usability (we're particular fans of the oversized trackpad), the NB305 might be hard to beat. Toshiba's also pursuing the software angle here with a Media Controller app to expose some of Windows 7's media streaming abilities, along with a visual search app called RealTime and a fridge-style Bulletin Board.
